Method and assumptions
HCF (GCD) uses the Euclidean algorithm. LCM(a,b) = |a ÷ HCF(a,b) × b|. Enter nonnegative safe integers. HCF(0,n)=n; this tool defines HCF(0,0)=0. Any zero makes the LCM zero.
Worked example
Multiples of 12 and 18 first meet at 36. LCM(12,18)=36.
